My sister is worth.........

A recycled card:

Joyce first gave me this card in 1999. I found it a year or two later, and it's been going ever since. It's a beautiful card, and has been meaningful every year.

A trip across town to the Salvation Army to take advantage of their half-price sale so I could nab this beauty for 2 dollars.

Here's a close-up of the lovely horse motif.

Happy ugly sweater day sis!

Okay. Were it in my power, you would win. That is one UGLY sweater!

Love the card, though.

Carole: you were right after all, about the wings and feathers anyway. It was not a chicken; it was a mallard duck soup urn and ladle. I found it in my cupboard where I've been safely keeping things out of my kids reach for the last seven years. I put away my pickled egg dish and there it was. It will return to its fridgetop roost once I clear away the playdoh basket and halloween candy. Today I also happened upon my Grandma's old black pumps from the 1940's and will proudly wear them to my aunt and uncle's anniversay party today. What a day...she must be thinking about me.
It was great to see all you gals again...that whole cheese smearing thing demolished all those prim and proper memories I have of you perched in front of the piano.
Who knew?

Oh dear, prim and proper NOT! I think I scared a few people that night..... But not to worry, I save the food things for near and dear family members! Glad to hear you found the duck dish; may it live proudly atop your fridge.

It was great fun to reconnect with you after all these years. Happy birthday!
